Landing Amongst the Stars and Flowers…
Rooted in the Old Ways
There is a kind of knowledge that doesn't come from books — it comes from hands in the soil, eyes trained on the light as it shifts through the trees, and ears tuned to the quiet hum of a world that is always, always speaking.
Charlotte has been listening her whole life.
She is a daughter of Pittsburgh — a city built on fire and rivers, where the hills hold their secrets and the bridges stitch together neighborhoods with their own living memories. The Steel City has always known how to make something enduring out of raw material, and Charlotte carries that same ethos in everything she touches. Here, the old ways didn't disappear when the mills went quiet. They went underground, into gardens and kitchens and the hands of people who still know how to make things that last.
Born from a deep love of this city and the natural world it sits within, Capturing Yinz is where the old ways and the handmade meet — a space built on the belief that beauty is not separate from the sacred, and that every moment worth living is worth capturing.
How It Started…
Charlotte's eye for story found its shape early — somewhere between the tree lines of Western Pennsylvania and the iron-scented air of Pittsburgh's river valleys. A city this layered — where immigrant traditions, working-class grit, and wild green hillsides have always lived side by side — teaches you that story is everywhere, if you know how to look. She has spent over a decade in the world of brand and marketing, learning how to draw people close, how to make them feel seen before a single word is spoken. That gift — for connection, for recognition, for honest reflection — is the thread woven through everything she creates.
But Charlotte is not only a storyteller with a camera. She is a keeper of flowers, a builder of small sacred things, a woman who knows the name of every plant on her windowsill.
Crafted with Intention…
The same hands that hold a camera press wax into molds, arrange petals into patterns, and layer intention into every candle she sends out into the world.
As a Reiki Master and folk practitioner, Charlotte's craft runs deep. She leads workshops in the old arts — botanical arranging, candle dressing, ritual making — and offers custom creations to those who seek something made with more than skill. Something made with care. With meaning. With a whisper of something older than either of us can name.
Her tarot readings carry that same weight: grounded, unhurried, honest. The kind that leaves you quiet afterward.
What we offer:
Photography — Portraits, events, and moments caught in honest light. Charlotte photographs people the way the forest photographs itself at golden hour: without performance, without pretense. Just truth.
Botanical & Candle Making — Dried floral arrangements, dressed candles, and handmade earthly creations crafted with foraged beauty and folk intention. Each piece made to order, each one a small ceremony.
Workshops — Learn the old crafts in a space that feels like gathering around a fire. Botanical arts, candle dressing, spiritual practices — taught with warmth and rooted in tradition.
Spiritual Services — Tarot readings and Reiki sessions offered to those seeking clarity, healing, or simply a moment to breathe and be met where they are.
The Heart of It
Whether she's steadying a camera, pressing herbs into wax, or laying cards across a table — Charlotte is doing the same thing every time.
She is paying attention. She is holding space. She is saying: this moment matters, and so do you.
“I have worked with Charlotte for photos and tarot readings, just like with everything she made me comfortable. The things she told me baffled and left me speechless, she told me things that no one else but myself knows. ”
