What to Expect
A gentle pause from the rush of modern life—with a retro twist. Join us for a two-day spooky celebration inspired by the gritty thrills and neon nights of 1980s and 1990s horror. Designed to stir nostalgic chills and playful scares, this event blends vintage atmosphere, immersive experiences, and community connection.
Day 1 — The Vendor Market: Step into a marketplace where VHS-era aesthetics meet contemporary craft. Browse curated stalls featuring handmade goods, horror-themed art, collectible memorabilia, vintage clothing, and eerie homewares. Expect some of the most kick-a** vendors around, with photo op installation that echo classic horror set design, and workshops on feeding into our ghoulish souls. Come in your best throwback horror attire or casual comfort—shop, mingle, and soak up the nostalgic vibe. THIS IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AND FREE TO ATTEND!
Day 2 — Sleepaway Camp: Spend a night jumping back in time to a classic summer camp vibe, under the stars at an atmospheric sleepaway camp that channels the restless energy of ’80s–’90s camp horror without losing comfort. Camp activities combine spooky storytelling around the fire, guided night hikes with moody lighting, and late-night movie screenings of cult favorites—presented with respectful curation and content warnings. All accommodations include basic amenities and quiet zones for rest. Mornings offer gentle, grounding sessions—nature walks, light movement, and mindful reflection—to balance the thrills of the night. This is reservation only!
This event is for 21+ who loves the aesthetic and storytelling of classic horror and wants a communal, nostalgia-forward experience—part market, part immersive camp, all atmosphere. Come for the scares, stay for the community, leave with new finds, new friends, and a memory made in vintage shadow. Vendor market is open to all ages, sleepaway is 21+ and a sober event.

Jen: Ive been feeling nostalgic lately, and one of my core memories is of times at Girl Scout summer camp when I was young. Im a huge horror fan, and love the campy Friday the 13th movies. After vending at the Outdoor Discovery Center last spring, I started envisioning bringing back some of that nostalgia in an intentional way. One of the only people I could think of who'd get my vision is Char.
Char: I always wanted to create spaces where people could show up as themselves. As a 90’s kid this hits home to key points in my childhood. Plus any time I get to collab with Jen I am all for it. -
Jen: Im truly stoked about the Sleepaway Camp portion. There's an untapped horror market in the area, and so many unique and talented artisans who should have an opportunity to showcase their work at times other than Halloween. Many of us are "spooky" all year. Getting to realize this event and see it through on the whole however is very thrilling!
Char: I think for me it’s all about bringing people together. I am super stoked about the sleepaway and having people get to experience some of my favorite activities.
-
Jen: This is an unfair question. It varies, and I cherish many for different reasons! Since I have to choose just one, it would be the classic and original Halloween (1978). Im an 80s kid, through and through.
Char: “Death Becomes Her” is a fav cause of the comedy aspect but in typical 90’s kid fashion “I Know What You Did Last Summer”
